Of course, with coffee in the name of my blog, I have to share a coffee recipe. I love getting a special coffee drink from my local coffee shop, but that can start getting a little spendy after awhile. I make my own cold brew coffee at home, but I started missing my iced white mochas which is my favorite coffee treat. This recipe for a homemade iced white mocha was inspired by my friend Carrie.

How to make the best iced white mocha

There are a few tricks to make it taste just as good, if not better, as a mocha you would get from a coffee shop.

Use a medium roast coffee. It has a smoother taste and is not as bitter as a darker roast.

Make it with whole milk or heavy whipped cream. You can use 2% milk or whatever you normally keep on hand, but whole milk gives it that rich delicious taste. And cream makes it taste ah-MAZ-ing! Now that being said, I have found a way to make it “healthier” by using almond milk and collagen powder. It does taste slightly different, but I have gotten used to it and I am fine with it now. However, if you want that delicious coffee stand taste, I recommend using whole milk.

Use Ghirardelli White Chocolate Powder which you can find here. I’ve tried using white chocolate sauces and they are just not the same as white chocolate powder. It has the best white mocha taste.

How to make it

To start, you will need a 4 oz shot of brewed coffee or espresso. Add 3 tablespoons of the white chocolate powder to the hot coffee. It works better to add the powder to hot coffee so the powder mixes in evenly and doesn’t clump up. If you want to use” target=”_blank” rel=”noreferrer noopener”> collagen powder, now is also the time to add it.

Fill a cup with ice and then you can do this next step 2 different ways. Some people like to pour the coffee over the ice and then add milk to the top of the cup. I like to measure things out, so I pour half a cup of milk over the ice and then pour the coffee in.

And there you go! A delicious iced white mocha that you can make and enjoy at home. Have fun playing around with the amounts and ingredients to perfect it to your liking. Sometimes I like to add a little caramel sauce for an extra kick of flavor. You could also try peppermint or raspberry sauce for something different.
