I’m sure that by now you have heard of Amazon Prime. What did we do before we could order pretty much anything from Amazon, receive it 2 days after we ordered it, and not have to pay for shipping?
If you didn’t know about Amazon Prime before, that’s pretty much it – you can order anything you might need from the Amazon website and have it shipped in 2 days with no charge for shipping.

When I say you can order anything off of Amazon, I mean pretty much anything. I’ve bought shoes, a vacuum, vitamins, diapers, candy, camp chairs, and much, much more! To enjoy these perks you do pay for a yearly membership to Amazon, but then you can order whatever you want or need at a cheaper price with a touch of a button, and did I mention free 2 day shipping? 🙂

Amazon Subscribe and Save
If you have kids in diapers, this is one of my favorite things about my Prime membership. The way Subscribe & Save works is you can have items automatically shipped to you every month for an even cheaper price. You can save anywhere from 5% to 20% off of the regular Amazon prices. The more items you have in Subscribe & Save, the more you will save on each item.
I discovered this when my second child was a baby. We used to buy our diapers and wipes from Costco when they were on sale. I thought I was getting the best prices on diapers then, but I discovered that it was even cheaper to order them through Amazon with Subscribe & Save. With 2 kids in diapers at the time, I was pretty excited about that! The other nice thing is those huge boxes are shipped right to your door. No more lugging them in and out of the cart and from your car into the house.
If you don’t have kids in diapers, don’t worry, there are many other things you can order through Subscribe & Save. The things I order are: vitamins, collagen powder, flosser picks, gum, our refrigerator water filter and my white chocolate powder.
If it’s something that you use often and it qualifies for Subscribe & Save, I highly recommend doing it. I’ve saved so much money over the years with this perk. You have the option of having items shipped monthly or every other month. A few days before your items ship, you will get a notification email where you can also manage your order. If for some reason you don’t need one of the items in your order, you can cancel it for that month.
Amazon Family
Amazon has a free 30 day trial offer called Amazon Family. With this perk you can save 20% on diapers and wipes and they also offer coupons for baby food, formula, paper towels, toilet paper and other household items. With this offer you are trying out Amazon Prime and Subscribe & Save. Once your trial is over you have the option to pay for a Prime membership.

Kindle Unlimited
If you have a Prime membership you have the option to read books on your Kindle device or by using the Kindle app on any device. There are lots of books that you are able to read for free through Kindle. With Kindle Unlimited you pay $9.99 per month and then you are able to read pretty much any book or magazine for free with Kindle. Even the books you would normally have to pay for. You can try Kindle Unlimited for free for the first month before you are charged the monthly fee. If you are an avid reader this is a great perk of Amazon Prime.
Listen to audiobooks with Audible
If you prefer to listen to books, Amazon has an audiobook membership called Audible. With this membership you can listen to millions of different digital audiobooks on any device at any time. You can try it for free for a month and then it’s $14.99 per month after that.
Amazon Prime Video
There are many movies and TV shows included for free in Amazon Prime. If you like binge watching your favorite shows, you have the option to do it anywhere at any time. There are thousands of free shows and movies to watch for free. You also have the option to rent or buy movies that aren’t included in your Prime membership and you can pay a monthly fee for all access to certain networks that aren’t included for free.
